Educational institutions have been closed since March following the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.
The provincial education ministers on Wednesday agreed to reopen all educational intuitions across the country in the first week of September. The decision was taken in Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) that was chaired by Minister for Federal Education Shafqat Mehmood and presided by Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad. Ministers of all four provinces attended the meeting.
During the meeting, it was decided that coronavirus situation will be thoroughly monitored before opening the institutions. The provinces had been directed to give suggestions for precautionary measures that should be taken to keep students and teachers safe from the pandemic virus. All institutes would have to follow strict implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The final approval in this regard will be taken in National Command Operation Center (NCOC) meeting on July 9.
