Islamabad: PM has called for arrangements to restore educational activities in the country. He has asked the authorities to form a joint strategy in collaboration with provincial educational authorities to resume educational activities in the country.
All educational institutions were closed almost three months ago when country experienced first few COVID-19 cases. Although alternate arrangements were made by Federal and Provincial Government to introduce online classes, but it has not been marked very successful and accessible for all right now.
Imran khan was also informed about the tele-school initiative and e-taleem portal which is promoting remote learning.
PM also asked to accelerate efforts to bring a uniform curriculum throughout the country. Authorities were also asked to address financial difficulties of institutions and reservations of parents regarding fees during the pandemic crisis.
PM presided over the meeting held in Islamabad. It was attended by Shafqat Mahmood, the Minister for Professional Education and Training, Information Minister Shibli Faraz, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Asim Saleem Bajwa, Punjab Higher Education Minister Raja Yasir Humayun and Higher Education Commission Chairman Tariq Binouri.
