Several Pakistani cricketers test positive for Covid-19

A round of tests were performed ahead of the squad assembling for Pakistan Team’s England Tour. And Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that 10 players have been tested positive for COVID-19.

Initially three players – Haider Ali, Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan – were tested positive for Covid-19, after which further seven players – Fakhar Zaman, Imran Khan, Kashif Bhatti, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Rizwan and Wahab Riaz – were also revealed to have tested position. Support staff team member, the team masseur Malang Ali, has also tested positive.

According to the PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan none of the 11 team members found positive for Covid-19 showed any symptoms before being tested.

Despite the setback, PCB Chief was resolute about the England tour and said it was not under threat. Though he confirmed that in case during rounds of testing if more members are tested positive, contingency plans are being put together for replacements.
