
Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 1.35%
Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Plastic, Information Services and Computers & Peripherals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 1.35% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Taiwan Line Tek Electronic Co Ltd (TW:2462), which rose 10.00% or 2.10 points to trade at 23.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Innolux Corp (TW:3481) added 10.00% or 5.10 points to end at 56.10 and AVerMedia Technologies Inc (TW:2417) was up 10.00% or 4.90 points to 53.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yeong Guan Energy Technology Group Co Ltd (TW:1589), which fell 9.92% or 0.61 points to trade at 5.54 at the close. Chung Fu Tex-International Corp (TW:1435) declined 9.51% or 1.35 points to end at 12.85 and Episil-Precision Inc (TW:3016) was down 8.70% or 12.00 points to 126.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Yeong Guan Energy Technology Group Co Ltd (TW:1589) fell to all time lows; falling 9.92% or 0.61 to 5.54. Shares in Innolux Corp (TW:3481) rose to 5-year highs; up 10.00% or 5.10 to 56.10. Shares in Chung Fu Tex-International Corp (TW:1435) fell to 5-year lows; losing 9.51% or 1.35 to 12.85.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.95% or 1.83 to $95.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.84% or 1.77 to hit $97.77 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.75% or 33.85 to trade at $4,486.05 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.02% to 31.45, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 99.29.
