Taiwan stocks lower at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted down 0.73%

Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Plastic and Glass sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.73%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Para Light Electronics Co Ltd (TW:6226), which rose 10.00% or 3.30 points to trade at 36.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Regal Holding Co Ltd (TW:4807) added 10.00% or 2.80 points to end at 30.80 and Twoway Communications Inc (TW:8045) was up 9.93% or 4.75 points to 52.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Cheer Time Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3229), which fell 9.87% or 6.60 points to trade at 60.30 at the close. Jentech Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:3653) declined 8.76% or 510.00 points to end at 5,310.00 and Eikei Group Cayman Co Ltd (TW:6924) was down 7.91% or 11.00 points to 128.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 810 to 218 and 88 ended unchanged.

Shares in Para Light Electronics Co Ltd (TW:6226) rose to all time highs; rising 10.00% or 3.30 to 36.30.

Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.57% or 1.59 to $102.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.44% or 1.52 to hit $107.20 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.40% or 17.50 to trade at $4,334.40 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.33% to 31.87, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.21.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 99.34.
